Black Bean Sauce

Ingredients

198ml/7fl oz beef stock made with Bovril
4 level tbsp fermented black beans, rinsed
2 level tbsp oyster sauce
1 tbsp dark soy sauce
1 level tbsp clear honey
1 tsp each minced garlic and ginger
2 level tsp cornflour
salt and freshly ground black pepper


Method

1. Place the stock, black beans, oyster sauce, soy sauce, honey, garlic and ginger in a pan, bring to the boil and simmer for 5 minutes over a low heat.

2. Mix the cornflour to a paste with 2 tsp of water and pour into the pan. Continue to cook, stirring continuously, until the sauce has thickened. Season to taste and serve.

Serves 4

1.5 syns per serving on each
